Online Mechanic Help - Starting

Problem: Car starts but engine is slow
Solution: Could be a bad battery or starter.

Problem: Black smoke comes out of the exhaust
Solution: The motor sensor could be bad

Problem: White smoke comes out of the exhaust
Solution: Could be the head gasket

Problem: Blue smoke comes out of the exhaust
Solution: Could be a problem with the valve seals or ring seals

Problem: Car starts but the motor sputters when trying to start
Solution: The problem could be a plugged fuel injection, spark plugs or the valaves

Problem: Car starts but does not run
Solution: Could be a bad fuel pump, a bad sensor or a vacuum leak

Problem: Car starts but has a back fire
Solution: The problem could be a wet distributor cap or the fuel injection

Problem: Car doesn’t start at all and no sound comes out
